Origins and Heritage

The Brigati surname, rooted in the principality of Monaco, traces back to the 1300s with a renowned court singer bearing the name. Over time, the Brigati name migrated from France to the Italian border, notably settling in Liguria and Emilia Romagna. Known for their large landholdings, the Brigatis transformed over generations from significant landowners to influential figures in various professions, including law, religion, and eventually, fashion.

This spirit of relentless ambition and adaptability led the Brigati family to expand their influence beyond Italy, with branches of the family establishing themselves across the Americas. In the contemporary era, the Brigati legacy is carried forward by Graziella Brigati and her husband, Ricardo De la Blanca.

Their partnership was not just in marriage but in their shared passion for fashion and design. Graziella, with her keen eye for detail and innate understanding of elegance, and Ricardo, with his business acumen and creative vision, transformed their company into a fashion powerhouse, with more than 22 storefronts and a massive factory streamlining production. Through the 60s and into the 90s, their fashion business became an icon of quality with particular emphasis on their shoes which were known for their incredible endurance and timeless appeal utilizing traditional craftsmanship with innovative fashion, earning acclaim far and wide. Many of their shoes still being worn today.

While fashion had always been a deeply seeded passion for Ricardo III, the opportunity to create his own apparel brand arose through the synergy of his family. His wife, Cheryl Herger, an accomplished fashion designer and founder of Nonchalant Label and Parentezi, among others, provided him with a keen eye for quality production and design.

His son, Ricardo IV, who graduated with a bachelor's in journalism in New York and possesses a deep-rooted passion for history and storytelling, as well as, his daughter Andreina, an acclaimed graphic designer at several studios in New York, has also joined the team. Together, they developed a brand that transcends fashion, delivering the rich culture and heritage of each product with a laser focus on detail and beauty to give our beloved customers an unmatched experience.
